NAPO is Collecting Used Cell Phones |
 |
|
The Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Professional
Organizers (NAPO) is collecting used cell phones for the DONATE A PHONE ® program—a national wireless
collection drive designed to provide
domestic violence victims with cell phones. Phones will be sent to the CTIA Wireless Foundation, which in turn erases all previous data,
refurbishes them and then provides them to individuals in women’s shelters. They will be re-programmed so women can dial 911 in case of an
emergency.
Collection boxes have been placed in strategic locations throughout the
Twin Cities. Phones (cell phones only, please) and their chargers (if available) may be dropped
off. Donations will help
reduce clutter in homes/offices, reduce the waste in our landfills and help victims of domestic abuse.
As the donor, you have the privilege and responsibility of determining the value of your gift for tax purposes. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
You may print a Tax Receipt to reflect the value of the phone you have donated.
