|GO Week 2003 Report
Submitted by Audrey Thomas, GO Week Chair
Wow! It’s been only a few hours since our Fall GO Week Organizing Conference ended and as I reflect on the day’s events I’m filled with a myriad of emotions.
I’m so thankful for:
• Our Corporate sponsors Smead and 3M
• Barry Izsak, NAPO President, attended and lent us his support, encouragement and expertise.
I’m in awe of:
• Barry made a surprise announcement that Minnesota was recently selected as the site for the 2007 National NAPO Conference.
• Over 150 people were in attendance!
• An Expo which included 16 exhibitors such as Smead, 3M, Organized Living and
• Incredible door prizes donated by Lillian Vernon, Smead, Online Organizing, 3M and several other local companies.
• A beautiful Minnesota NAPO Booth.
I’m most proud of:
• A Go Week Committee who worked as a team and came through shining bright.
• Incredible Minnesota NAPO members who lent their help throughout this project.
I’m encouraged by the following survey comments:
• “Wish it was longer”
• “Good Value”
• “Can’t wait until next year!”
• “Great Event – Great Expo”
• “Very practical and applicable information, tools and resources”
• “Very easy to network with strangers”
• “I loved the vendors”
• “So glad I came!”
• “Just the motivation I needed”
• “Very valuable to my professional and personal life”
In addition to an incredible Planning Committee, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our President, Kim Pastor, who lent her support as our committee forged ahead down a path we had never traveled. Her leadership style encourages our members to step out beyond their comfort zones and in her words “Run with it!”
I believe this event marks a turning point for the Minnesota Chapter. We have grown considerably, taking a giant step professionally not only among our members, but among our community.
